Tanzanite Birthday Dice

Tanzanite may be a relative newcomer to the world of coloured stones, but it was one of the most exciting gem discoveries of the 20^th century.

Blue stones emerging from Tanzania were identified as the mineral zoisite in 1962. Not until 1967, though, did prospectors locate the primary source for this December birthstone: the Merelani Hills.

It was eventually named tanzanite in honor of its country of origin. The tanzanite birthstone is often described as “velvety,” mostly because of its deep and saturated colour, which ranges from a pure rich blue to violet, with the blue considered most valuable.

These dice sets are designed in Canada and come in a dice case that is easy for storing.

Each set is a standard RPG set with a D20, D10, D%, D12, D8, D6, & D4.

Packaged in a dice box; it is easy to display and stack in your showcases.

Tanzanite Birthday Dice were designed to look like the rich purple gems. This was a layered attempt to make a cross section of what the dice would look like if cut from unpolished gems.

With silver ink that is easy to read it is a good set for being able to read for a long time.

Tanzanite Birthday Dice Characteristics

The Tanzanite Birthday Dice are made with 3 layers of resin. The bottom layer is solid purple resin, the middle layer is a dark blue transparent resin and the top layer is a purple transparent resin. This has an interesting effect of making the the colours shift and change when you move the dice.

I wanted to create a mixed solid and transparent dice set so that you could see the inside of a solid die.
